CQUniversity Ranked #90 in latest Young Uni Global Rankings
CQUniversity has been announced as one of the world's best Young Universities by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Ranked at 90 in the Top 100, this puts CQUniversity in esteemed company on a global scale.
The Young University Rankings, previously known as the THE 150 Under 50 Rankings, have now been extended to include 200 institutions, from right across the world, who are all under 50 years of age. They apply the same performance indicators as the overall THE World University Rankings, with young universities measured on their teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.
Professor Scott Bowman, Vice-Chancellor & President CQUniversity Australia said that reaching the top 100 marks an exciting milestone for CQUniversity.
‘This is the second time that CQUniversity has featured in these prestigious rankings and I am delighted to say that this year we have claimed a spot at number 90 - improving on our 2016 placing which was just outside the top 100!’ he said.
‘Cracking the top 100 ranks is a very exciting milestone for us, particularly this year, as we also celebrate 25 years since being granted full university status. We are also one of only four other Queensland-based universities and the only member of the Regional Universities Network (RUN) to be included in the top 100.’
This achievement also comes on the back of CQUniversity being recognised as one of the World's top 500 Universities by Times Higher Education at the end of last year, and as Australia's first and only accredited Changemaker Campus by Ashoka U.
CQUniversity really is a university like no other and in recent years has placed a strong strategic focus on growing engagement and research agendas while involving communities and industries in everything they do. CQUniversity have also invested heavily in improving their offerings and national reach. Because of this they have been able to continuously improve our reputation, not just locally but on an international scale.
