Education Queensland International - Cairns & FNQ

Education Queensland International (EQI) facilitates the enrolment of students in Queensland Government schools.

All government schools in Cairns are coeducational day schools. Our schools strongly support excellence in academic achievement and the well being of all students.

They provide studies in the key learning areas of English, Mathematics, Science, History and Geography. English language support is available. There is an extensive range of interesting study options available such as Marine Studies (including the PADI Dive Certificate), Information Technology, Business Education, Music, Performing Arts, Film Television, Radio Broadcasting and Outdoor Education.

There are comprehensive services provided by the international support teams in all schools. These include assistance with enrolment procedures, orientation programs, support with selection of study programs and university courses, and accommodation assistance (including Homestay programs). Each school has a qualified Guidance Officer to provide educational, careers and personal counseling support.

Our selection processes are thorough and seek to ensure that students entering the senior schooling program will have the best chance of future success. Courses

As the official government education provider, Education Queensland emphasizes continuous development and improvement of education policies, planning and curriculum. Schools provide a range of high-quality programs and Queensland State accredited syllabuses.

Successful completion of secondary studies leads to the awarding of the internationally recognised Senior Certificate and eligibility for entry into tertiary institutions through Queensland, in other states of Australia and overseas institutions. Education Queensland has strong and strategic alliances with universities, and other educational institutions.

Location

There are over 30 Primary and Secondary schools in the region within one hours drive of Cairns city, which host Study Tour programs for visiting groups.

There are 3 Education Queensland schools in Cairns that are in the International Student Program (ISP) and offer Secondary Schooling and Study Abroad Programs for international students.

EQI now offers a Regional International Student Program (RISP) at Atherton State High School.

These schools are Cairns State High School, Trinity Bay State High School and Smithfield State High School.
