Primary School

• Seven year school program for ages 5-12 years (Year 1 - Year 7)
• Preparatory programs are also available
• Students can combine Queensland core subjects for young learners with special interest areas including art, music, drama and physical education
• Uniforms are worn by students attending primary school
• School hours are Monday to Friday from about 0845 to 1500 hours
• Homestay is available for the upper Primary age group
• English as a Second Language support is available

Providers

• Catholic Education Services: Catholic Education in the Diocese of Cairns consists of twenty primary schools. Eight primary schools are in the City of Cairns, the remainder being in regional centres within 120kms of Cairns. This latter group can provide an Australian rural experience for visitors. Programs are based on the Queensland State accredited syllabuses.
• Trinity Anglican School: The focus is on laying the foundations of a child's education, with the emphasis on ensuring that girls and boys are given the best opportunity to reach their full potential by providing a solid traditional grounding for educational studies. Each student is encouraged to participate in all aspects of School life.
• Education Queensland International - Cairns & FNQ: A division of the Queensland Government Department of Education. EQI is an internationally respected education provider that has been providing international education programs and services for over 10 years. In this time, EQI has welcomed students, teachers and school administrators from all over the world. We include two primary schools that provide International Student Programs: Edge Hill State School and Trinity Beach State School.
