Operating for more than 30 years and formally known as Cairns Beauty Academy, International College of QLD has had much success in graduating numerous domestic and international students.
Established in 1986 by owner Sue Collins who saw a need for a well-equipped training academy where students graduated job-ready and experienced, having worked in a busy beauty salon while studying. Our Campuses have the latest up-to-date facilities, equipment and products that students can enjoy. We are located across the road from major shopping centres in each location for convenience and public transport requirements.
Beauty Therapy is a very rewarding career in a rapidly expanding industry offering a variety of employment opportunities world wide.
With a Diploma in Beauty Therapy, graduates will be skilled to be able to work in a variety of associated vocational fields, such as:
- Beauty Therapist
- Make-up artist
- Masseuse/ Masseur
Students may want to continue studying by attending University. The Beauty Diploma Qualification will allow them to continue on to university studying different courses such as health science, business studies or education.
All students gain extensive knowledge encompassing all the various facets of cosmetics and their use, and an understanding of the history and development of the beauty culture.
Diploma of Beauty Therapy
Our most popular and highly recommended Beauty course is the Diploma of Beauty Therapy. It has been designed as a high level qualification for those wishing to operate as a beauty therapist, employing staff and managing a beauty salon.
The course allows students to learn the latest beauty industry techniques and to further expand their skills to a Vocational Graduate Certificate in IPL and Laser Hair Reduction or university studies in paramedical aesthetics. This is the most highly regarded of all Beauty qualifications.
Diploma of Screen and Media
The Diploma of Screen and Media is designed to prepare students to work in specialist roles in the makeup services industry.
Graduating students typically gain employment as hair and makeup artists and designers, photographic and/or high fashion makeup artists and stylists, retail makeup artists, freelance makeup artists and bridal makeup artists.
