Profile
TNQ TAFE in Cairns:
- employs over 300 staff and delivers training to over 13,000 students, including international students, every year;
- is a specialist provider of training to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (A&TSI) people, delivering more than a quarter of all vocational education and training to A&TSI students in Queensland through face-to-face and remote delivery via the Internet and Videoconferencing;
- provides A&TSI training courses including literacy and numeracy, educational and vocational access, business, administrations, governance, small business management, community management, community recreation, indigenous primary health care, dance, land management, music, tourism (guiding), visual art, and volunteer peer tutoring
- provides pre-vocational and trade training including automotive, engineering, metal fabrication, fitting/diesel, electrical/refrigeration, automotive fabrication, hydraulics, cabling, welding, etc;
- has experience delivering short courses, and RPL assessments, to companies and individuals in PNG.
Location
Set in spacious tropical gardens, the Tropical North Queensland TAFE campus provides a welcome and friendly environment only 2 km from the Cairns city centre. Regular bus service stops outside the TAFE throughout the day.
