ENGLISH LANGUAGE COLLEGES – TAFE Language Centre

The Language Centre at Tropical North Queensland TAFE, a part of the Queensland Government, offers a range of quality English language courses. Highly qualified and experienced teachers, excellent student services and small classes ensure students receive the highest quality language learning experience.

Students have access to the full range of excellent campus facilities including library, bookshop, flexible learning centre, free internet access, audio-visual facilities, art gallery, sports facilities, hairdressing and massage training clinics, cafeteria, coffee shop and childcare centre. Set in spacious tropical gardens, the campus provides a friendly environment only 2 km from the Cairns city centre.

General English: Elementary to Advanced (7 levels). Each level is 12 weeks long but students may choose to study for any length of time from 4 to 48 weeks. Students may commence on any Monday. Student visa holders may choose to study either 20 or 25 hours per week.

English For Academic Purposes: This 12 week, full-time course prepares students for entry into academic study at TAFE or university.

IELTS Preparation: available 5 hours per week as an elective for full-time students or part-time to working holiday and visitor visa holders.
