About IELTS
The International English Language Testing System (IELTS), is designed to assess the language ability of people who need to study or work where English is the language of communication. IELTS is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia and Cambridge Assessment English.
The test conforms to the highest international standards of language assessment. It covers the four language skills – listening, reading, writing and speaking. IELTS is recognised by more than 10,000 universities and employers in many countries, including Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. It is also recognised by professional bodies, immigration authorities and other government agencies. More than 3.5 million tests were delivered in 2018.

About IDP IELTS Cairns
IDP IELTS Cairns is located close to Cairns CBD and about 15min from Cairns International Airport. Our team is managing IELTS testing in Townsville, Port Moresby, PNG, and the Pacific Islands. We offer paper-based IELTS tests at all locations.
In Cairns and Townsville, we provide small test rooms and try to create a more relaxed atmosphere for our customers. Tests in Port Moresby and other off-site locations are conducted at key hotels with high standards of amenities and customer service.
IDP Cairns organises regular presentations at the Student Hub and IELTS Masterclasses to help you better prepare for your test. All sessions are FREE to attend. If you took a test but are not happy with your recent test scores, you can submit your request for a remark, also called an Enquiry on Results (EOR). Request the application form by email and post the completed form along with your original Test Report Form to IDP IELTS Test Centres: P.O. Box 16154, Collins Street West, VIC 8007.
